Mojave High Desert Studio

Living and working in the High Mojave, my work reflects the desert’s dramatic forms and shifting moods, infused with the quiet intensity of time pressed into the land. Light, color, and atmosphere move in constant flux, layering memory over geology, sky over stone. The desert is never still; it is a place of transformation, where time unfolds in hues and shifting contours.

Rather than capturing a single moment, I compress time by layering multiple impressions into each composition, revealing the desert’s ever-changing nature.  Through a bold and instinctive use of color, I dissolve the boundaries between observation and imagination. Mesas, ridgelines, and valleys emerge as echoes rather than landmarks, blurring the line between the seen and the felt. My work distills the desert’s essence, holding both its fleeting light and vast expanse in a landscape that is at once real and reimagined.
